no place like home

Our living room used to be a place where inhabitants could enjoy something lewd or gross or something that would be inappropriate in public. It used to be that place because it was a private place.

Now it’s adjacent to cubicles where kids are learning during the day, and so in every room in the house, I have to unlearn my sense of privacy, and incorporate a new reality: that there’s likely a live microphone and camera in every room in the house to someone outside of it during the day, everyday, beyond any reasonable control.
