Connect a T-Mobile Dash to your Mac

So the readers of this blog probably will never need this information, but it’s here if you happen to stumble upon it.

First, you need to pair the phone to the Mac. On your Dash there’s an applicationn called “internet sharing.”

Start > Accessories > Internet Sharing
Status
Disconnected

PC Connection:
USB or Bluetooth PAN (dropdown box)

Choose Bluetooth PAN (or USB if you don’t want to cut the cord).

Network Connection:
T-Mobile Data or T-Mobile MMS (dropdown box)

Choose T-Mobile Data.

You’ll be prompted to make the phone discoverable, and let it be. You’ll want to open your bluetooth manager on the mac and add your telephone as a connected device.

The Dash will bring you to a screen where you can select to make the “Serial Port” available. You’ll want to do that.

Believe it or not, that’s about it. To use the Dash as a modem, just select the T-Mobile Dash from your Bluetooth Menu (and make sure Bluetooth is turned on). You’ll be downloading porn on the train in no time at all.

BTW — I’m posting this via the Dash’s connection right now.
